Resolutions Support provides comprehensive advocacy and mental health support services for individuals navigating the complexities of family courts. I advocate on their behalf in court, local authority meetings, and other settings, ensuring their voice is heard and their rights are protected. Whether they're working with solicitors, barristers, or local authority representatives, I'm here to guide them through the process and provide the emotional support they need during this challenging time.

My Expeience

Summary

I spent much of my NHS career working in child and family settings, including in specialist CAMHS as a senior clinician. In the last phase of my NHS career, I worked in the CAMHS crisis service. Much of my work focused on enabling parents to support their children in complex situations and developing ‘stay safe plans’ to reduce risk of self-harm and suicide.

Prior to my time in CAMHS I worked in Learning Disability settings, working in inpatient and community environments. I also have experience of working in a young people’s outpatient substance misuse service, in a young people’s secure setting, and in a Youth Offending Service.

I left the NHS in 2019 to focus on freelance work. This consisted of supporting Dr Lennon Swart, Consultant Clinical Psychologist with clinical work in family proceedings associated with public and private law matters. In this role I undertook aspects of complex assessments, including with Looked After Children in foster care placements and children in residential facilities. A major part of my role has involved working with families to improve dynamics in families bogged down in family disputes. This has included family work and mediation. I have undertaken joint work with Dr Swart in relation to complex sibling assessments and attachment issues. I have provided child and adolescent mental health support to children and young people whose foster placements have been unstable.

In 2022 I set up Resolutions, to broaden my public and private law support work and assist local authorities with complex cases. I also advocate and support individuals and parents going through child care proceedings. I regularly attend family court in this regard.
